Terms of Service
Last updated: July 16, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Dancy iOS application (the "App") and dancyapp.com. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service
Dancy lets you follow dance routines, get scored by your device's camera, track streaks and progress, appear on leaderboards, and — for approved tutors — publish routines. Core dancing features are free; some features require a paid subscription ("Dancy Pro").
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You may use the App without an account, but scores, streaks, and leaderboard placement require one.
3. Subscriptions (Dancy Pro)
- Dancy Pro is offered as auto-renewable subscriptions billed through your Apple Account: weekly, monthly, and yearly plans. Current prices are shown in the App before purchase.
- Some plans include a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Payments, refunds, and billing disputes are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
4. Your content and conduct
- Your practice videos stay on your device. If you share a clip, you are responsible for where you share it.
- Display names and handles must not be offensive, impersonate others, or infringe anyone's rights. We may change or remove names that violate this.
- You agree not to abuse the service: no cheating leaderboards, reverse engineering, scraping, or interfering with other users.
5. Tutor content and music rights
- Tutors may only upload routines and songs for which they hold the necessary rights (their own or licensed content). Uploading music or choreography you do not have rights to is prohibited.
- By publishing a routine, a tutor grants Dancy a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and stream that content within the App.
- We respond to copyright complaints and will remove infringing content. Rights holders can contact us at the address below.
- Tutor status is granted by review and can be suspended for violations.
6. Health notice
Dancing is physical exercise. Consult a doctor before starting if you have health concerns, dance in a safe space, and stop if you feel pain or discomfort. You use the App at your own risk; Dancy provides scores for entertainment and self-improvement, not medical or fitness advice.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its design, and its technology are owned by Dancy and protected by law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store terms. This licence is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) where applicable.
8. Termination
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create legal risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability) survive termination.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, that scores are error-free, or that content will always be available. Pose tracking accuracy depends on lighting, framing, and your device.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dancy shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Apple-specific terms
- These Terms are between you and Dancy, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal compliance, or IP claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this page. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Istanbul, Türkiye, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
