Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dancy ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Dancy iOS application (the "App") and the dancyapp.com website. Dancy is designed around a simple principle: your dancing is scored on your device, not on our servers.

1. The camera and your video

Your camera video is processed entirely on your iPhone. Dancy uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to track your body pose and score your dancing. Camera frames are never uploaded, streamed, or stored by us. The only exceptions are actions you explicitly take: saving a practice video to your own device, sharing a highlight clip, or — if you are an approved tutor — uploading a routine video you recorded.

Videos you import from your photo library for skeleton tracking are also processed on device and are not uploaded unless you explicitly save them as a routine (a tutor/admin feature).

2. Information we collect

Account information

Activity data

Device data

Purchases

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history. Advertising-related data is collected only by our advertising partner as described in the next section.

3. Advertising

The free version of Dancy shows ads served by Google AdMob. Dancy Pro subscribers see no ads. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect:

Your choice: on first launch, iOS asks whether Dancy may track you across apps (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalized — based on context rather than on you. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Your camera video, pose data, and dance scores are never used for advertising. For details on Google's processing, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from partner apps. You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

4. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal data. Advertising in the free version is handled by Google AdMob as described in section 3; we do not give your account or activity data to advertisers.

5. Where your data lives

Account and activity data are stored with Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider, protected by row-level security so that your private data is only accessible to you. Media for published routines (tutor videos, songs, covers) is stored in Supabase Storage.

6. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Dancy (Supabase for infrastructure, Apple for purchases and push notifications, Google for advertising in the free version), when required by law, or with your explicit action (for example, appearing on a public leaderboard with your display name, or sharing a clip yourself).

7. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the App (Profile → Settings → Delete account). Deletion permanently removes your scores, profile, sign-in, and push tokens. Tutors with published routines should contact support so we can handle published content correctly.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Most of these you can exercise directly in the App; for anything else, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Dancy is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Access to production data is limited and protected by row-level security policies.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this page, and the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
